gear reviews and news section

was having a read through some of the gear reviews that have been posted in the forum and it got me thinking.

On the VB main page there is a section for gear reviews, but i think VB was the last person to review any gear back in mid 2008, it just seems like as a community, we have missed a trick here and could have a cracking gear review section.

there are some fantastic, written reviews scattered throughout the forum and any one of those could be incorporated into the review section.

same also goes with the news section, VB was the last to post mid 2008, maybe worth getting these sections of the site current??? might pull in more traffic???

Believe it or not we have been discussing this..and the "plan" is too open that section up and do what your saying...
I mean there are literally a hundred guitars we could put there right now..not counting the amps and pedal, guitar port etc...

Thanks and things are going to change soon , the process has already started with the adverts etc....

Well we kind of do that now... in a round about way. When someone gets a new toy a lot of us do a vid review to show off our new gear. Most include product name, hardware, woods etc...

What would be different? I like the idea of a formal place to go for reviews, I'm just curious to know what to expect.

Not only reviews and news, but how about a section for guitar related articles? How to's, personal stories about gigs, bands, etc. (For example, our friend Dennis Dullea seems to have a million great stories to tell about his experiences).

I'm sure we have many members with great stories to tell that are too long to post in the forums. We probably have some members with writing and editing skills too, (myself included - I was once an editor for an auto racing web site).

I Think this is a great idea. I have a ton of stories from going to shows with my dad.
